Cape Town - It seems the whole world was watching Tiger Woods' popular Masters victory at Augusta over the weekend.
Even the President Donald Trump.
So much so that he has bestowed the top civilian award in the United States on the golfing legend.
Trump tweeted on Monday that he had personally spoken to Woods to congratulate him on his win and that he would be awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
"Spoke to @TigerWoods to congratulate him on the great victory he had in yesterday's @TheMasters, & to inform him that because of his incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE, I will be presenting him with the PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM!"
Wood's win was his first major since 2008 and his first win at Augusta since 2005.
